Identity and print
Offbeat Records
A riso identity for the campus record shop that only stocks the records nobody else orders.
The brief
Offbeat has been selling second-hand records out of a room behind the union for nine years. The shop is moving to the high street and needs a face that looks like the shelves: busy, specific, a little worn at the corners.
What we need
A wordmark, a sticker system, record dividers, a tote, and a one-colour poster that can be printed on the shop riso. We have two ink drums: fluoro pink and black. That is the palette.
What you will do
Draw, set type, cut paper, print, and get ink on your sleeves. You will work with the shop owner, a illustration student, and whoever claims the photography. No prior print experience needed. We will teach the machine.
What you leave with
A printed identity in the world, a set of process photos, and the deadline story you can tell in an interview. The shop keeps the originals. You keep the files and the credit.
How to claim it
Turn up on Tuesday at 18:30, say the name, and pick a piece. Mention Offbeat Records in your note if you email first.
